Re: Most Alien Looking Place On Earth
Thu, December 4, 2008 - 10:05 AMI contacted a tour company. Here's the info:
To answer your question and to help you more specifically, we recently had a professional photographer come for a 10 day tour of the island. He seemed to enjoy his time and found that he had enough subjects to capture throughout his time here. His trip was tailor-made, which sounds like something you would be more interested in, since locations for good photography vary depending on weather, time of day, etc. His trip included a little more trekking as well.
The cost of his particular trip, as one person:
$2100
And includes:
• All sightseeing activities as specified
• All transfers on Socotra in 4WD Toyota Landcruiser, (with driver & petrol)
• Local English speaking guide (with knowledge of the fauna & flora of Socotra)
• All travel permits pre-arranged
• All transfers to/from airport
• 2 nights accommodation as per scheduled
• Camping equipment (Small dome tents, Mattresses)
• All Entering Fees to protected areas
• Full board meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and bottled water
• Well-experienced cook during camping & cooking equipment with tables and chairs
• One boat excursion to Shouab beach (weather permitting)
• And days of trekking using the local guides
If you are interested in the basic Standard Tour for 7 days the cost ranges from:
$1700 - $2000 and may or may not include all of the above.
Hope this helps. If you have any more questions or when you decide to plan your trip to Socotra, let us know! We would love to be a part of your adventure and can organize your tour to suit your needs as a photographer.
Sincerely,
Jacob J Critz
