Noted glamour photographer and author, Rolando Gomez, has started a new website, community, and forum: www.phototherapy.org. The premise is that glamour photography can help those with low self-esteem or poor body-image by helping them see themselves as beautiful. This parallels my own interests when I started photographing normal, mature women several years ago with the goal of presenting each one at their most beautiful. And I can attest that Photographic Therapy works. If interested, log on at www.phototherapy.org and check it out. Membership is free.

Re: Photographic Therapy
Fri, December 26, 2008 - 5:32 PMWithout having gone to the site yet, I can agree that photography can be used in this manner. I have in the past received excellent reviews from my subjects in regards to my shots. More than once, I have been told "you make me so much more beautiful than I am." To which I reply that I only record and interpret the beauty that is there. Having received comments like that, I can well agree that such usage of photography is valid. -
